Abstract

White gathering (Curcuma zedoaria (Christm.) Roscoe) containing flavonoid compounds, saponins, and tannins efficacious as antibacterial in the form of cream. The aim of this research is to find the white rhizome cream extract cream have good physical quality, to know the activity and effective concentration of cream extract of ethanol extract of white rhizome in curing Staphylococcus aureus infection ATCC 25923. White rhizome extract was obtained by using maseration method using 70% ethanol solvent to obtain white rhizome extract. The cream extract formula of white rhizome extract is made with three concentrations of 5%, 10% and 15%. The parameters of white rhizome estract cream observed were concentration and storage time for 4 weeks. Observation of healing time is done by observing the duration of healing of infection on the skin of the rabbit's back after giving the extract cream of white rhizome extract, characterized by the loss of erythema, udem and pus. The data obtained were analyzed by one-way ANOVA (significant p <0.05). The results showed that the cream extract ethanol white rhizome produce cream preparations with good physical quality. White temu rhizome extract extract at concentration 10%, 15% have same activity to positive control to Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 so it can cure infection at skin of back of rabbit Keywords: White rhizome (Curcuma zedoaria (Christm.)
