Abstract

Inflammation is a response to tissue injury and infection. Inflammation can be reduced by anti-inflammatory drugs. Sukun leaf (Artocarpus altilis (Parkins) Fosberg) is a nutritious plant as an anti-inflammatory drug. The purpose of this research is to know the sukun leaf extract can be made cream preparation, to know the cream of sukun leaf extract to meet the physical quality of the cream, to know the cream of sukun leaf extract concentration 10%, 15%, 20% give anti-inflammatory effect and know the better concentration as antiinflamasi. Sukun (Artocarpus altilis (Parkins) Fosberg) leaf was extracted by maceration method using 70% ethanol solvent, the extract was formulated into cream with three dose variations of 10%, 15%, 20%. The resultant creams were tested for the physical quality of the cream, then tested the animal to determine the percentage of rat foot, everage AUC, antiinflammatory power and ANOVA test. The results of this study were the sukun (Artocarpus altilis (Parkins) Fosberg) leaf extract can be prepared in cream preparations, sukun leaf extracts meet the physical quality of the cream, sukun leaf extract provides anti-inflammatory effect and sukun (Artocarpus altilis (Parkins) Fosberg) leaf extract which has the best effect on rat legs induced of karagenin 1% solution in cream with concentration of 20% has a everage price of AUC 0,025 ± 0,027 and anti-inflammatory power 63,23%.
