Abstract

Analgetik is a compound to ease the pain without removing awareness and antipyretic is the cure that can reduce fever. This study aims to understand the analgetik-antipiretik activity and to determine effective doses of extract ethanol kenikir leaves (Cosmos caudatus H.B.K.). Extract ethanol kenikir leaves was extracted with remaserasi method using ethanol 70 %. Twenty five white male mice were divided into five groups. Group I (negative control), given a CMC-Na suspension 1 %. The second (positive control), mice given a paracetamol (antipyretic) and acid mefenamat (analgetik) dose of 65 mg / KgBW. Mice in the III, IV, and V given suspension extract ethanol kenikir leaves dose of 150; 300 and 600 mg/KgBW. Stimulation pain done with chemical induction using acetic acid. The number of writhing is a pain response every 30 minutes after induction. Fever in mice induced by intraperitoneal with 0,05 ml DPT vaccine. The temperature rektal measured before treatment (early temperature), 120 minutes after vaccine, and every 30 minutes after treatment. The data response to the number of writhing and rectal temperature statistically analyzed by anova one direction test. The result showed that ethanol extract of kenikir leaves has analgetik antypiretic the amount of writhing and lowering the temperature of mice rectum. Effective dose of extract ethanol kenikir leaves as analgetik antipyretic is 600 mg/KgBW. Key words: leaves kenikir, analgetik, antipyretic, acetic acid, vaccine DPT, Cosmos caudatus H.B.K
