Abstract

Inflammation occura as the protective response of the body to eliminate organisms that attack the body, removing irritant substances and regulate tissue repair. The aims of this research were to determine the antiinflammatory activity of ethanol extract, fractions from pandan leaves and to determine the highest activity of the fractions. This research used 6 groups, negative control (CMC-Na), positive control (Sodium diklofenak 0,45 mg/200gBW), ethanol extract 300 mg/KgBW, n-heksan fraction 65 mg/KgBW, fraction ethyl acetate 42 mg/KgBW, and water faction 133 mg/KgBW. Each rats induced by carragenin 1% in subplantar. Then measured the volume of edema from hours 0; 0,5; 1; 2; 3; 4; 5; and 6. The antiinflammatory activity was observed from the ability to inhibited edema due to lambda carragenin induced. ANOVA was done to know the difference in each treatment. The results of the research showed that extract, and fractions of pandan leaves had antiinflammatory activity. Extract and water fraction showed the highest antiinflamatory activity and compared to the positive control. Key words: antiinflammation, fractions of pandan leaves, lambda carragenin
