Abstract

Zedoary (Curcuma zedoaria) rhizome extract has been shown to be active against breast cancer cell line in various studies, but its pharmacological mechanism of action remains unclear. This study aimed to predict the molecular target of chemical constituents of zedoary rhizome extract and predict constituents which had good interaction with the anticancer molecular target. Nineteen active compounds of Zedoary rhizome extract which identified from various studies were analyzed using BATMAN-TCM to predict target proteins/genes. TTD and OMIM were used to identified pathways of target proteins/genes. Predicted target proteins were further analyzed with molecular docking using systemsDock followed by Autodock Vina. BATMAN-TCM identified sixteen target proteins/genes were involved in the mechanism of action of tested structures. The primary potential target molecular targets of zedoary constituents were PTGS2, ESR1, and HSP90 with potential active constituents were Gweicurculactone, Alismol, Curcumenol, λ8(17),12diene-15,16dial, Neocurdione, Zerumbone epoxide, Procurcumenol dan Zerumin A.
