Abstract
Mulberry is one of the plants containing antocianin. Antocianin has antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activity that can prevent dementia. This study was aimed to determine the effect of mulberry ethanol extract to increase of memory and determine the effective dose of mulberry ethanol extract in test animal by Morris Water Maze method. This study was used 30 white mice which divided into 6 groups. Normal group, negative control (CMC 1%), positive control group (gingko biloba dose of 65 mg/kg BW ), groups of 4th, 5th and 6th were given extract mulberry dose of 7, 14, and 28 mg/kg BW respectivelly. The escape latancy data were analyzed statistically using one-way ANOVA (p<0,05) followed by Tukey test. The results showed that there was significant difference between negative control with treatment groups. Increasing of memory mulberry extract at dosage 7; 14; And 28 mg / kg BW respectively is 21 ±9,4; 29,7 ±8.0; and 26.2 ±11,3 seconds. The conclusion of this research was dose 7 mg / kg BB extract of mulberry fruit effectively improve memory of white mice. Keywords: memory, mulberry (Morus alba L), ethanol extract
