Abstract
Fever and pain is not a disease but symptoms of particular disease. Angsana leaves have been used empirically by community as fever and pain medicine. The aim of this study is to know and to prove the analgetic antipyretic effect of ethanolic extact of angsana leaves in white male mice and to know the effective dosage. Angsana leaves extracted with remaseration method using ethanol 70 % as the solvents. The analgetik antipyretic effect analyzed using mice divided to negative control group ( CMC-Na ), Positive control using acid mefenamat (analgetik) and paracetamol (antipyretic) , extract of angsana leaves 200 mg / kgBW, 400 mg / kgBW , and 800 mg / kgBW as well as the normal group to antipiretic. The analgetic study used the method of sigmund by induction of acetic acid and the parameter that be examined was the number of writhing. The antypiretic effect was analyzed using induction of vaccine DPT-Hb-Hib and the parameter to be examined was body temperature of the mice. The results of statistical analyze used one way anova shows that the doses test have the significant difference over the negative kontrol. The effective dose of ethanolic extract of angsana leaves which gives the effect of analgetic is 400 mg / kgBW and the effective dose of ethanolic extract of angsana leaves as antipyretic is 200 mg / kgBW . Keyword : Analgetic, Antipiretic, Acetic acid, DPT- Hb-Hib, Pterocarpus indicus Willd.
