Abstract

Plant genus mangifera has been widely explored antiinflamasinya activity in the community. This research was conducted to determine the anti inflammatory activity of ethanol extract of mango kasturi leaves (Mangifera casturi kostrem) and the effective dose of ethanol extract of mango kasturi leaves as anti-inflammatory. The study was used edema formation method on soles of rat foot caragenin 1%- induced.The animal test fasted for 18 hours, and divided randomly into 5 treatment groups and then measured the volume the soles of foot.Each group was given CMC 0.5%, diclofenac sodium 4.5 mg/kg BW rat, and ethanol extract of kasturi mango leaf with doses of 87,5 mg/kg BW rat, 175 mg/kg rat BW rat, 350 mg/kg BW rat, respectively.The rats were left for 1 hour then induced with carragenin 1%.The edema volume soles of rat foot was measured at 0,5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 24 hours after carragenin-induced.The edema volume graph to time was made to calculate AUC and then calculated percentage of antiinflamation power. The results showed that ethanol extract of kasturi mango leaf was able to give antiinflamation effect on white male rat wistar strain carragenin 1%-induced. The effective dose of ethanol extract of kasturi mango leaf as antiinflammation was dose of 350 mg/kg BW rat.
