Abstract

Temulawak rhizome contains potent curcumin compounds as hepatoprotectors. This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of instant and temulawak preparations are optimal to reduce levels of SGOT and SGPT in male rats strain wistar that induced paracetamol. This study used 30 rats divided into 5 groups of 6 each, namely, normal control group I, group II negative control (Paracetamol), group III positive control (curcuma 20 mg / kg BW), group IV were given dengue extract dose 400 mg /kg of rat BB, group V was given instant dosage of temulawak dose 400 mg /kg BB rat. All groups were treated for 13 days. Day 11-13 is given paracetamol except normal control. Day 0 and the 14th was determined SGOT and SGPT levels. The data obtained were analyzed by One Way Annova test. The results showed that a single dose of instant preparation and temulawak rhizome extract decreased levels of SGOT and SGPT in male rats strain wistar that induced paracetamol. The result show that differences in the supply of instant prepsarations and rhizome extract in male rats strain wistar that induced paracetamol.
