Abstract
Toxoplasmosis is a disease caused by Toxoplasma gondii induced , transmitted from animal to human (zoonosis). Individuals with high risk viewed from the frequent contact with raw meat are chefs. Chefs is an occupation that can be risk factor of being infected with Toxoplasma gondii, because viewed from their daily activity can be infected with Toxoplasma gondii bradizoit when they poorly in mantaian hygiene and do not wear self-protecting apparatuses. This research aimed to find out whether or not Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibody and how much the prevalence of Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibody on chefs in the Surakarta area. This study was an observational descriptive research with cross sectional approach. Antibody examined in this research was IgG using ELISA principle. The tool used was Micoplate Reader Rayto RT-2100C. The result of research on 20 respondents showed that 8 respondents were positive Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibody (prevalence of 40%) with titter of 74.554-515.313. It indicated that chefs could be infected with Toxoplasma gondii and sufficiently high prevalence. Keyword: Toxoplasma gondii, IgG Antibody, Chefs
