Abstract

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is the development of microorganisms in the urinary tract when it was in the normal circumstances do not contain bacteria, viruses or other microorganisms. Antibiotics was the first step on therapy in the world related to the incidence of bacterial infections. Women are more frequently exposed to UTI than men because the female urethra is shorter that is why the contaminant bacteria more easily towards the bladder. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of antibiotic use and rationality of tghe use of antibiotic base on right indication, dosage, drug, and patient. The research was descriptive research which was done retrospectively. Population of research were all urinary tract infection inpatient in rumah Sakit Islam Klaten in the year of 2017. Samples of this research were the medical record of urinary tract infection inpatient in Rumah Sakit Islam Klaten in the year of 2017. The antibiotics used were levofloxacin class of quinolone, vicillin sx class of penicillin and seftriaxone class of cephalosporin. And the result of rationality treatment was 100% in precise indications, right dosage was 67,7%, right drug was 79%, and right patient was 100%.
