Abstract

Humans need oxygen for survival that is used for metabolic processes in the body. The amount of oxygen decreases as the altitude increases. Therefore, conducted research on the amount of adolescent hemoglobin levels in the highlands and lowlands. This paper was conducted at the Tawangmangu Health Center laboratory using blood samples taken from 30 samples consisting of 15 highland adolescent in Tawangmangu with a height of 2000 meters and 15 lowland adolescent in Karanganyar Regency with a height of 90 meters. Based on the results of the examination shows the average hemoglobin level diketinggian 2000 meters is 13.8 grams / dl while at a height of 90 meters is 13.1. The computer application test obtained the significance value of highland 0.099 and lowland 0.104 it is stated that there is no significant difference between adolescent hemoglobin levels in uplands and lowland adolescents.
