Abstract

Matoa Plant (Pometia pinnata J.R. & G.Frost.) Is a medicinal plant widely known to the people of Indonesia as antihypertensive. Previous studies of acute toxicity test with LD50> 5000 mg/kg BB were performed. Furthermore, this research is done to know the effect of subcronic toksikitas leaf of matoa on hematology parameter (erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets, and hematocrit) white rat Wistar Galur and behavioral changes in animal test. Matoa leaf extract was macerated with 70% ethanol. Subcronic toxicity test used 100 rats and divided into 5 groups, ie negative control, dose 150 mg / kg BB, 500 mg / kg BB, 1000 mg / kg BB, and 1000 mg / kg BB (satellite). The study was conducted for 90 days. The calculated data were analyzed using Kolmogorovsmirnov to compare each data before and after treatment and Anova to compare each treatment dose. The results showed that giving 90 days of ethanol extract of matoa leaf in white wistar rats did not couse changes in morphology (erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets, and hematocrit) in male an female rats. And for giving of leaf extract of matoa not affect behavior change in white rat Wistar. Keywords: toxicity, leaf matoa, hematology, behavior.
