Abstract

Hypertension is one of the public health problems, where the prevalence of hypertension cases continues to increase. Hypertension was ranked the tenth highest inpatient in 2016 in Ir. Soekarno Sukoharjo regional public hospital with a total of 257 cases. Patients require two or more antihypertensive medications to achieve blood pressure targets. Drug interaction is an interaction, which occurs when the effect of a drug was modified by the presence of other drug, this may affect the outcome of patient therapy. This study aims to understand the profile of treatment, the number of drug interaction events, and the percentage of interaction mechanism on the treatment of hypertension inpatients in soekarno sukoharjo regional public hospital on 2017. This research is a non experimental descriptive research with retrospective data collection. The number of samples taken are as many as 70 medical records that meet the criteria of inclusion. Data is analysis using the Lexicomp app, as well as using Stockley's Drug Interaction and Drug Interaction Facts literature. The results of the study showed that the most widely used antihypertensive drug as a single dose was amlodipine in 7 patients (10%) whereas the most widely used combination therapy was amlodipine with captopril with 14 patients (20%). incidence of drug interaction was found there were 52 patients (74,3%) happened drug interaction and 18 patient (25,7%) did not happen drug interaction. Based on drug interaction mechanism, pharmacodynamic interaction of 143 cases (53.96%). pharmacokinetics 53 cases (20%) and unknown 71 cases (26.04%).
