Abstract

Noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia L.) and mangkokan leaf (Nothopanax scutellarius (Burm. f.) Merr.) effective to treat antifungal. The aim of this study wasdetermine the effectiveness of single extract and combination of noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia L.) and mangkokan leaf (Nothopanax scutellarius (Burm. f.) Merr.) to Candida albicans ATCC 10231 Noni fruit extract and mangkokan leaf was extracted using maceration method using ethanol 96%. The antifungal activity against Candida albicans ATCC 10231 was tested by the difussion method. The inhibition zone diameter was measured using comparison of 1:1, 1:2 and 2:1, noni fruit extract 100%, mangkokan leaf extract 100%, ketokonazol was used as positive control and DMSO 1% was used as negative control. The study showed that noni fruit extract and leaf mangkokan extract had antifungal activity against Candida albicans ATCC 10231. Diameter of inhibition zone of noni fruit extract in the ratio 19,20 mm, mangkokan leaf extract in ratio 10,867 mm, combination of noni fruit and mangkokan leaves on average in the ratio of 1: 1 is 18,23 mm, 1: 2 ratio of 19,93 mm and in the 2: 1 ratio of 22,20 mm. The result of one-way ANOVA analysis showed effective antifungal activity against the Candida albicans ATCC 10231 is a 1:2 ratio and 2: 1 ratio Keywords: Noni fruit Extract (Morinda citrifolia L.) and mangkokan leaf (Nothopanax scutellarius (Burm. f.)
