Abstract
Indonesia ranks fourth in the largest Diabetes Mellitus in the world. Hypertension, renal failure and heart failure are macrovascular complications in Diabetes Mellitus patients.This study aims to find out any medication that can lead to interaction on the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus disease at Inpatient Installation Hospital Islam District klaten period 2017. This type of research is qualitative research with observational (nonexperimental) research methods with the nature of retrospective research. This study used secondary data from Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients with Complications in the Inpatient Installation of the Klaten District Islamic Hospital in 2017. Data was then analyzed using Medscape Reference-Crug Interaction Checker, Drug Interaction book by Stockley, and Fact and Comparions by David S. Tatro. The results of this study indicate that the type of drug that has a lot of interaction is the drug class Angiotensin receptor blocker, valsartan with loop diuretic groups, namely furosemide with 30 cases (30%). Drug interactions that occurred in this study were pharmacokinetic interactions with a total of 9 cases (12.33%), pharmacodynamic interactions with a total of 60 cases (82.19%) and an unknown interaction with a total of 4 cases (5.48%).
