Abstract
Patients suffering from tuberculosis will get anti-tuberculosis drugs comsumed in a long time. Some events unexpected drug reactions (ROTD) caused by OAT can be experienced by patients with both major and minor. This incident could be expected to affect the patients' adherence to treatment. This study aims to determine the type of ROTD, onset ROTD, and the relationship between ROTD with compliance. This research aimed to find out the type and the duration of drug reaction occurring, and the effect of drug reaction on its compliance. This study employed a cohort-prospective study by conducting interview and distributing MMAS questionnaire to tuberculosis patients in Puskesmas (Public Health Center) X in DIY in 2017. Out of 153 patient data registered in 2017, it could be found that 32 patients qualified inclusion and exclusion criteria in the period of November 2017-February 2018. The result of research showed that the symptoms often felt were gastrointestinal disorder (48.7%), numbness (13.2%), headache (10.5%) and joint pain (6.6%), all of which occur within 1-4 weeks after consuming antituberculosis drug. The result of SPSS analysis on the unexpected drug reaction to the compliance showed Asymp.Sig 0.309>0.05, so that it could be concluded that there was no significant effect of unexpected drug reaction on compliance.
