Abstract

Hypertension is one of the cardiovascular problems which can be happened to many people. Hypertension can be treated with synthetic or traditional antihypertensive drugs. Synthetic antihypertensive drugs have a lot of side effects, so as an alternative antihypertensive is used tradisional drugs, one of them is Tenebrio. This study aims to study the presence of preventive effect from Tenebrio powder on the blood pressure increasing in hypertension rats. This study uses blood pressure measurement method Tail cuff non invasive. Using 25 wistar rats divided into 5 group, namely the sick group given CMC 0,5%, drug atenolol group given dose 4,5 mg/kg, Tenebrio powder dose I (0,96 mg/kg), Tenebrio powder dose II (1,93 mg/kg), Tenebrio powder dose III (3,85 mg/kg). the animals test were given intraperitoneal epinephrine injection 1,2 mg/kg for blood pressure increasing . Blood pressure measurement conducted before inducted epinephrin and in 1, 15, 30 minutes after inducted epinephrin. The result of blood pressure reduction sistolik and diatolik then analyzed by One way ANOVA. The results this study Tenebrio powder at a dose of 3,85 mg/kg can decrease blood pressure did not differ significantly with atenolol drug. The conclusion of this study is Tenebrio powder can decrease bood pressure. Keywords : Tenebrio, Hypertension, Tailcuff, Non invasive, Blood pressure
