Abstract

Ceremai leaf extract had showed antihyperlipidemia activity in the research before. The aim of this study was to do a further study to know the most effective between n-hexane, ethylacetate, and water fraction of ethanol ectract ceremai leaf (Phyllanthusacidus (L.) Skeels) can decrease LDL level and increas HDL level in hyperlipidemic wistar male white rat. Rats were divided to 7 groups. Group I normal control, group II negative control CMC 0,5%, group III positive control simvastatin, group IV ethanol extract 45 mg/kg BW, group V n-hexane fraction 17,38 mg/kg BW, group VI ethylacetate fraction 8,63 mg/kg BW and water fraction 18,9 mg/kg BW. Rats were fed using lipid diet that is quail eggs, oil, and PTU in all group except normal control group for 2 weeks. On day-14 until day-28 te rats were given solution test orally. On day-0, day-14 and day-28 were taken fasting blood to measure LDL and HDL level using CHOD-PAP method. Data were analyzed using One Way ANOVA. The result of this study showed that all fractions and ethanol extract of cermai leaf have antihyperlipidemia activity. Ethylacetate fraction 8,63 mg/kg BW is the most effective treatment to decrease LDL Level and HDL level after the positive control.
