Abstract

Hypertension is the highest third cause of life-threatening chronic disease after tuberculosis and stroke amounted of 6,7% of mortal population of all age in Indonesia. The objective of this study is to know the percentage of drug interaction, drug types which commonly incurring drug interaction, drug interaction mechanism on hypertensive patients treatment in inpatient installation of Panti Rahayu Yakkum hospital Purwodadi Grobogan in 2017. It is a descriptive non-experimental study with retrospective data collection. Inclusion criteria includes hypertensive patients, those with or without complication, in their 40-65 years of age, who treated in Panti Rahayu Yakkum hospital Purwodadi Grobogan. The exclusion criteria includes patients who died during the treatment, with incomplete medical record, patients who are pregnant and those who forcibly stop medication. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, there obtained 38 hypertensive patients met with criteria. Data is descriptively analyzed to see the type of reaction based on reaction severity level, which are minor, moderate and major and the remarks on interaction can be observed based on Lexicom application. Results of this study there are 31 patients (81,58%) who were experience drug interaction and 7 patients (18,42%) were not experience drug interaction. Of the total 31 potential interaction patients were the most moderate 120 (53,6%). The drug mostly used and likely to cause drug reaction is catapres with diazepam causing moderate interaction.
