Abstract
Larvacidal is an insecticide used to kill the stage of larvae. The compounds of frangipani leaves is alkaloids, phenolics, saponins, and flavonoids, can be used as natural larvacide. This study aims to determinate the larvacidal activity of extract, n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, and water fraction of frangipani leaves. This research uses soxhletation with ethanol 70%. Extract frangipani leaves is fractionated by n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and water for solvent. The series concentration used are 1000, 500, 250, 125, dan 62,5 ppm. For larvacidal test used 25 larvae Aedes aegypti instar III, treatment for 24 hours and analyzed by probit analysis to obtain LC50. The result showed LC50 extracts is 622,364±43,271 ppm, LC50 n-hexane fractions is 457,969±74,85 ppm, LC50 ethyl acetate fractions is 225,690±7,90 ppm, and water fractions is 1754,184±299,28 ppm. Ethyl acetate fractions of frangipani leaves has the most effective larvacidal activity against instar III of Aedes aegypti.
