Abstract

Dyslipidemia is a condition in which an increase of total cholesterol concentration, trigliserid, LDL and decreased HDL levels in blood. This research aims to prove dayak onion extract and dry extract have effect on the increased HDL level and decreased LDL level in rat blood serum and to understand effective dose that can prove it. This study using 35 male wistar rats. One grup given the normal diet and six groups were given rats high fat diet for a 14 days. Treatment given for 14 days. Group I as a normal. Group II as a negative control. Group III as positive control. Group IV and V dayak onion extract dose 40 mg/200 g BB and 80 mg/200 g BB. Group VI and VII dayak onion dry extract dose 45 mg/200 g BB and 90 mg/200 g BB. All rats measured HDL and LDL level before and after treatment since day 0th,14th,21th, and 28th. The analysis used in this research was ANOVA and advanced with Tukey. The results is dayak onion extract can influence against HDL and LDL levels. The significantly influence in LDL levels dose equal 80 mg/200 g BB dry extract. Aerosil can influence of stability extract. Key words : extract, dayak onion dry extract, HDL levels, LDL levels
