Abstract
Ischemic stroke occurs due to blockage (thrombotic or embolic) artery of the brain's artery. Blockage of blood vessel can disrupt blood flow to certain parts of the brain, resulting in neurological deficit caused by loss of function controlled by that part of the brain.This study was aimed to determine the description and rationality of antihypertensive drugs use in ischemic stroke patients which seen from right drug, right dose, right indication and right patient as well as suitability with guideline of JNC VII. The research use descriptive method with retrospective data collection. The data used was secondary data obtained from medical record card of ischemic stroke patients using which antihypertensive therapy. The data obtained then adjusted to the guideline of JNC VII. The results of rationality evaluation of antihypertesive drug use in stroke ischemic patients based on guideline JNC VII include precise 100% accurate drug of 62,27%, 100% precise patient and appropriate dose of 100%.
