Abstract

Hyperuricemia is a condition of uric acid in blood level is shown level were higher than normal. Fingerroot is the traditional rhizome which has the function to decrease the level of uric acid. The purpose of this research are to know the activity and efective fractions of n-heksana, ethyl acetat and water in decreasing level uric acid. 28 leghorn cocks were diveded into 7 groups at randomly, each group consist of 4 cocks. First group as the normal control, it does not give the treatment. Second group as a positive control allopurinol 14mg/1,5kgs bw. Third group as a negative control cmc 0,5%. Fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh group fingerroot extract 26,4 mg/1,5 kg bw, n-heksana fraction 1,7mg/1,5kg bw, ethyl acetat fraction 9,5 mg/1,5 kg bw, and water fraction 7,7 mg/1,5 kg bw. The blood taken was conducted 3 times i.e day 0,7,14, The blood samples were collected from vena lateralis. Than uric acid level was measured with spectrophotometer. The data obtained were analyzed by One way Anova (p>0,05) followed Tukey , (p<0,05) followed Mann-Whitney. The result showed that all of the groups were giving activity to the desrease of uric acid. The effective dose for antyhiperuricemia was ethyl acetat fraction 9,5 mg/ 1,5 kg bw which the positive alopurinol control. Key word : Fingerroot (Boesenbergia pandurata (Roxb.)
