Abstract

Cherry is a plant that can be used to speed up hair growth. Cherry contains flavonoids, saponins and pilifenol who fought in accelerating hair growth This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of ethanol extract of leaves of cherry against the rabbit hair growth. Cherry leaf ethanol extract is Obtained by maceration method using ethanol 70%. Groups of experimental animals used were negative groups, positive group, the group with the variation of the extract concentration of 10%, 15% and 20%. Hair tonic is applied to the shaved back of rabbits have to test the activity of rabbit hair growth by measuring the length of the hair and rabbit hair weights, and Carried out physical tests that include odor, color, pH and viscosity hair tonic. The results showed that the hair tonic preparations cherry leaf extract in different concentrations of ethanol has an excellent physical stability. The higher the concentration of the extract in the preparation of hair tonic activity make a difference rabbit hair growth. Formula gives hair tonic that effective results on the growth of rabbit hair is hair tonic with a concentration of 20%. Keywords: hair tonic, cherry leaf extract, hair, formula
