Abstract

Analgesic is a substance can reduce or relieve pain without removing awareness. Ashitaba leaf contains flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, tannin, phenolic, triterpenoid, glycosides. This research aimed to understand analgetic activity ashitaba leaf ethanol extract on white male mice tested using tail flick analgesymeter and determining the doses variations of ashitaba leaf ethanol extract on the activity of analgesic. Ashitaba leaf was extracted by remaceration method using ethanol 70%. Analgesic activity testing was done using 25 white male mice with tail flick analgesy-meter. The animals model was devided by five groups, group I (CMCNa), group II (mefenamic acid), group III (ashitaba leaf ethanol extract 0,195 mg/20 g BB), group IV (ashitaba leaf ethanol extract 0,39 mg/20 g BB), group V (ashitaba leaf extract ethanol extract 0,78 mg/20 g BB). The results were measured after 30 minutes peroral granting extract, next were measured performed on 60, 90, and 120 minutes. The resuld showed that ashitaba leaf ethanol extract had activity analgesic on white male mice. Doses of ashitaba leaf ethanol extract 0,195 mg/20 g BB; 0,39 mg/20 g BB; 0,78 mg/20 g BB; have analgesic activity significan closed to mefenamic acid. Doses of ashitaba leaf ethanol extract was optimum is a dose 0,78 mg/20 g BB. Keywords : analgesic, ashitaba leaf ethanol extract, tail flick analgesy-meter
