Abstract

Antibiotic prophylaxis is an antibiotic given to patients who have not been exposed to the infection, but have the opportunity for infection. The purpose of antibiotics profiaksis is to reduce the incidence of postoperative wound infection. The research method is a descriptive study with retrospective data collection taken from medical records in 2013 and 2014. Data are calculated as the use of prophylactic antibiotics Defined Daily Dose (DDD) per 100 patient days and based on criteria DU90%. The suitability of the use of drugs in hospitals than hospital formulary and ASHP Guidelines. The results showed antibiotic prophylaxis in 2013 most ceftriaxone and cefazoline 42.73% and 39.32%, and by 2014 most cefazoline 61.68%. Based on the DU90% between 2013 and 2014 its use has changed. The suitability of the use of antibiotics compared with a hospital formulary in 2013 and 2014 amounted to 100%, Conformity with Guideline 2013 ASHP improper medication 13.79%, 17.24% is not appropriate indications, 93.10% incorrect dose, incorrect use of old 90.80%, while the year 2013 is not the right medicine 3.52%, 3.52% is not appropriate indications, 41.17% incorrect dose, incorrect use of 61.17% long. Conclusion: The most widely used antibiotic is ceftriaxone and cefazoline. The use of antibiotics is no change between 2013 and 2014.
