Abstract

The Leaves chives (Allium schoenoprasum L.) which contains the compound of flavonois, saponin, tanin, triterpenoid, and allicin has an anti bacterial merit formulated in the form of ointment preparation with the hidrocarbon basis. This research aimed at knowing the oinment preparation of kucai leaves extract which has a good physical quality, knowing the activity and the most effective concentration from the oinment preparation of the ethanol extract of kucai leaves as a healer of Staphylococcus aureus infection. The extract chives leaves was obtained through the method of maceration with the 96% ethanol solvent, therefore, it was obtained the ethanol extract of chives leaves. The formulas of the oinment of kucai leaves extract with the hidrocarbon basis were made with three concentrations: 5%, 10%, and 15% which were used for the test of healer, and the amount of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria colony from the pus. The data obtained were analyzed used one-way ANOVA (significance p<0.05). The results of the research revealed that the oinment of 96% ethanol extract of chives leaves with the hidrocarbon basis resulted in the oinment preparation with a good physical quality. The oinment of kucai leaves extract in the concentration of 5%, 10%, 15% had an activity as a healer of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria infection, in the concentration of 15% showed an efective result in healing the infection which was proportional to the positive control as the paramater.
