Abstract
Drug interaction was one of the Drug Related Problems (DRPs) which may affect the outcome of patient therapy. Drug interactions occured when the effect of a drug changed due to other drugs (precipitant drug), food, or beverages. ARI was an abbreviation of Acute Respiratory Infections. This study aimed to know was there any drug interactions in the treatment of pediatric ISPA in Inpatient hospital. Dirgahayu Samarinda in East Kalimantan in 2014, and to find a picture or a pattern of drug use in pediatric patients with ARDs in Inpatient hospital. Dirgahayu Samarinda in East Kalimantan in 2014 based on the type of interaction. This research was non-experimental research design descriptive and retrieval of medical records retrospectively. Analysis of the incidence of drug interactions was done by comparing the results with standard books Medscape Drug Reference Interaction Cheker and Drug Interaction Facts 5th Edition descriptively. The results of the 51 cases of pediatric patients who met the inclusion criteria showed the incidence of drugs that interact as much as 33 cases (64.71%), which did not interact as much as 18 cases (35.29%), pharmacokinetic not interactions cases (0%), pharmacodynamics 10 cases (6,45%) , unknown as many as 145 cases (93,55%). The types of drugs that often interact were Phenobarbital and Dexamethasone. Key words : Drug Interactions, ARI, Pediatric
