T. molitor is one of animal that widely used by Indonesian society for various medications one of which improvement in liver function (hepatoprotective) because of the content such as protein and amino acid. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and the effective dose of T. molitor. ethanol extract to decreased the levels of ALT and AST in white male rat isoniazid- and rifampicin-induced. This study was used 30 white male rat randomly divided into six groups. All groups were given induction of isoniazid and rifampin except in the normal group. The treatment groups were given CMC 0,1%; positive control (Curcuma 18 mg/kg bw); T. molitor. ethanol extract at doses of 0,23 mg/kg bw; 0,47 mg/kg bw; 0.93 mg/kg bw orally for 28 days. Measurement the levels of ALT and AST were done on days 0, 14, 21 and 28. The data obtained then analyzed using Two Way ANOVA followed by LSD. The results showed that T. molitor ethanol extract could decrease ALT and AST levels in white male rat wistar strain isoniazid and rifampicin induced and effectif doses of 0,23 mg/kg bw. Keywords: Tenebrio molitor L, hepatoprotective, ALT, AST.
