Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus included prolonged or chronic diseases, the therapeutic treatment is done in the long term. Many studies of chronic disease treatment, patient compliance to drug consume is very low. The low levels of patient compliance to carry out therapy due to lacks of information and communication between pharmacist and patient, causing patient misunderstanding in carry out the therapy. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of counseling to therapy compliance fo Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 in Plupuh I Primary Health Care, Sragen. This study was conducted using questionnaire given to 35 respondents by purposive sampling method. The measurement of the compliance levels using MMAS-8 (Morisky Medication Adherence Scale) questionnaire and analyzed using Statistic Program For Social Science (SPSS) version 17. The factors that influence therapy compliance in diabetes mellitus type 2 patients analyzed using Crosstabs to find out the values of Chi Square and Pvalue. The results showed the levels of therapy compliance of diabetes mellitus type 2 patients in Plupuh I Primary Health Center, Sragen, were 5.71% patients had high compliance levels, 88.57% patients had moderate compliance levels, and 5.71% patients had low compliance levels. The factors that influence drug usage compliance on diabetes mellitus type 2 patients in Plupuh I Primary Health Care, Sragen, were family support (socioeconomic factor); education; age; health worker and routine control (patient factor).
