Abstract

Anopheles aconitus mosquito is one of the vectors that transmit malaria. One way of controlling the vector population was using insecticides. The medicinal plants with insecticidal activity can be used to control malaria vectors pupulasi. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the ethanol extract, n-hexane fraction, chloroform fraction and water fraction of nutmeg (Myristica fragrans Houtt) have insecticidal activity expressed by KC50 and LC50. The extraction was using maceration method then followed by fractionation. Results of extraction and fractionation created into 4 series concentrations of 25 ppm, 50 ppm, 100 ppm and 200 ppm. The tests conducted on 20 Anopheles aconitus mosquitoes. Observations were carried out for 20 minutes to see knockdown and 24 hours to see the death of the mosquito then calculated KC50 and LC50 using probit analysis. The results showed that ethanol extract, n-hexane fraction, chloroform fraction and water fraction have insecticidal activity. n-Hexane fraction of nutmeg (Myristica fragrans Houtt) have the most activity effective with KC50 value of 326,72 ppm and LC50 values of 142,66 ppm to mosquito Anopheles aconitus compared to extract ethanol with KC50 value of 527,16 ppm and LC50 values of 489,56 ppm; chloroform fraction with KC50 value of 390,01 ppm and LC50 values of 281,58 ppm and water fraction with KC50 value of 525,19 ppm and LC50 values of 364,59 ppm.
