Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is an infection disease which many found in society. Antibiotics are first-line drug which used to treat UTI. National Formulary is standard refference in BPJS patient to improve health service so achieve rational drug use. The purpose of this study was to determine pattern of antibiotic usage for UTI case in BPJS inpatient Dr Moewardi Hospital Surakarta during 2014. The research was descriptive study conducted by data observation retrospectively. Data taken include type, usage duration, dosage, dosage form and frequency of antibiotic administration which used in UTI treatment. The data obtained will be compared for compliance with standard therapy in UTI treatment. Antibiotic treatment in UTI therapy in BPJS patient at Dr Moewardi Hospital Surakarta consists of class group Beta-lactam, Fluoroquinolone, Macrolides, Aminoglycosides, Sulfonamides and Trimethoprim, and other antibiotics. Research results obtained, in 2014 the largest usage were Ceftriaxone (intravenous) and Ciprofloxacin (intravenous), i.e. 56.50% and 13.50%. Antibiotic whichnot in accordance with treatment standard were metronidazole and vancomycin. Keywords: antibiotic, urinary tract infections, BPJS
