Abstract

Triglyceride is a compound main lipid in the body and can lead to the risk of coronary heart. Leaves the nest ants (Hydnophytum formicarum Jack.) is a plant that can be used as a drug to lower levels of triglyceride and the body weight. This research aims to understand the effect of the provision of an ethanol extract leaves the nest ants to a decrease in levels of triglyceride and body weight are considerably given the effectiveness of a diet high in fat and dosage. Test animals used in this study were male white mouse aged 2-3 months weighing 165-200 grams were divided by 30 tails in 6 treatment groups. Ethanol extract leaves the nest ants and then tasted in each group with a dose of 18 mg/200 g BB, 36 mg/200 g BB, 72 mg/200 g BB. Normal group, the group hipertrigliseridemia given a diet high fat. Treatment done for 21 days. The effects of the decline in levels of triglycerides and the body weight can be seen from the provision of ethanol extract leaves the nest ants in reducing levels of triglyceride and the body weight for 21 days. The results showed that administration of ethanol extract leaf of leaves the nest ants can lower of triglyceride and the body weight. The most effective dose to lower triglyceride levels in this study is a dose of 72 mg /200 g BB. Keyword: The nest ants leaves ethanol extract, triglyceride, body weight.
