Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease which characteristic hyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormal insulin secretion, insulin or both. Diabetes mellitus requiring lifetime medicine, especially to achieve good metabolic control, so as to reduce and prevent complication. In the treatment of diabetes mellitus is needed. Antidiabetic drug selection appropriate to determine the success of theraphy. The aim of this study was determined the suitability of antidiabetic drugs inpatients with type 2 diabetes and suitability of the oral antidiabetic drugs use for patients with type 2 diabetes to the Formulary set out by the Pandang Arang Boyolali Hospital and PERKENI 2011. This was a descriptive study used retrospective . The number of sample is 199 using medical records and it choose by total samping who where taken from Juli – December 2014. The antidiabetic drug that used in type 2 diabetes mellitus are insulin, sulfonylurea class, biguanide, DPP IV inhibitors, tiazolindindion and alphaglucosidase. The result showed that the precise has a right indicatian has 100%, the right drug 67,48%, the right dose of 94,61% and 86,4% of patients appropriate. The antidiabetic drug that used in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients Pandan Arang Boyolali hospital are in appropriate with Hospital formulary and PERKENI 2011.
