Abstract

Coronary heart disease (CHD) in 33 province of Indonesia in 2013 around 0,13% or 22969 people. Increasing cholesterol level in blood is one of the causes CHD. Papaya leaves (Carica papaya) and cinnamon barks (Cinnamomun zeylanicum) are traditional medicinal plants that had previously been know as anticholesterol. To meet the quality recuirements of the drug that will be distributed in the community need to do security testing against the content of active substances so that the time consumed by the community not to cause hazard. Use of the test that aimed to identify the behavior change on animals in a test group and LD50 as a result of the use of the extracts and their rank letalitas. Papaya leaves were macerated in water, and cinnamon barks were macerated in ethanol 96%. Extracts combination to be tested in each test animal group to rank the doses are 1000 mg/kg BW, 2000 mg/kg BW, 4000 mg/kg BW, 8000 mg/kg BW dan 16000 mg/kg BW that can cause death in female mices. The observation was made during 24 hours up to 14 days, the organ weights of mice were analyzed using one way ANOVA with confidence level 95% and continued with post-hoc test. These results showed at a dose 1000 mg/kg BW combinated extracts gives influence behavior change in mice as ptosis, pilorection, spontaneous activity, and tremor. LD50 of combinated extracts are 912,050 mg/kg BW with letalitas level is slightly toxic. Key word : Acute toxicity, papaya leaves
