Abstract
Inflammation is a normal protective response against tissue injuries caused by physical trauma, destructive chemicals or microbiological substances. The content of flavonoids in the pandan wangi leaves was known to have a antiinflammatory activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the antiinflammatory effect of ethanol extract pandan wangi leaves. This study used 25 rats and were divided into 5 groups: the negative control (CMC 1%), positive control (Na-dichlophenac), doses of ethanol extracts pandan wangi leaves 18 mg/kg BW, 36 mg/kg BW and 54 mg/kg BW. Each rats induced by karagenin 1% injection on the sole of the feet rats by subplantar. Then measured the volume of edema from hours 0; 1; 2; 3; 4 and 5. The result was measured for Edema volume of research data from the value of the AUC and % anti-inflammatory resources. The results showed that ethanol extract of pandan wangi leaves have antiinflammatory effect on male rats strain wistar. The dose of ethanol extracts pandan wangi leaves 18 mg/kg BW, 36 mg/kg BW and 54 mg/kg had a AUC values in a row are 0.094 ml/hour; 0,101 ml/hour; 0,103 ml/hours and percent DAI 49.78%; 45,35%; 44,08%. The ethanol extract pandan wangi leaves dose of 18 mg/kgBB had the most effective anti-inflammatory effects. Key words: pandan wangi leaves, ethanol extract, Anti-inflammatory, Karagenin.
