Abstract
Duku seeds (Lansium Domesticum Correa) is a plant which has many benefits, which are to be used as the alternative insecticide which has alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid and terpenoid. The aim of the experiment are to know the larvacide activity of the ethanol extract, n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, and water fraction of duku seeds (Lansium Domesticum Correa) as the mosquito larvacide III-instar Culex Quinquefasciatus, who declared in the LC50 and the extract and the most active fraction. The powder of seeds duku was remacerated for three times by soaking for three days until it turn to be viscous extract by using 96% ethanol solvent, then it was fractionated by using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water solvents. It was suspended into tween 80 1% and solution of distilled water. Then, it was diluted into five series of concentrations (125µg/ml, 250µg/ml, 500µg/ml, 1000µg/ml, 1500µg/ml). The solutions included in the test glass containing 25 larva of Culex Quinquefasciatus III-instar for 24 hours, counting the dead larvae. The experiment was done three times for each concentration and using Abate 1G® as a positive control, tween 80 1% solution as a negative control and distilled water as a normal control. LC50 consentrations of each determined by using probit analysis. The result of the experiment showed that ethanol extract and n-hexane fraction of duku seeds (Lansium Domesticum Correa) have the most active larvacide activity with LC50 of 212µg/ml and 257µg/ml compared with the ethyl acetate and water fractions with LC50 value of 380µg/ml and 530µg/ml.
