Abstract
Inflammation is a normal protective response to tissue injury which caused by physical trauma, chemicals destroyer or microbiological substances. Leucaena glauca L. Willd. is one of the traditional medicinal plant which is believed to cure swelling (anti-inflammatory). Various content contained in this plant estimated has the potential to be developed into an anti-inflammatory drug is a flavonoid. Mechanism flavonoids as anti-inflammatory occurs through inhibition of the effects of arachidonic acid metabolism pathway, the formation of prostaglandins, histamine release or activity of a molecule. This study aimed to determine the effect of dried leaves extract of Leucaena glauca L. Willd. and know the dose that can have an effect as anti-inflammatory. The method used is maceration. The study of anti-inflammatory effect was done to five groups of test animals, all of group gave CMC 1%, the second group gave Na-diclofenac and gave test preparation dose of 0.192 g/kg BW; 0.386 g/kg BW; 0.772 g/kg BW. Data of udema was analyzed by Kolmogorov smirnov analysis, followed by one-way ANOVA test and then Post Hoc’s test. From the research known that all of doses of dried leaves extract of Leucaena glauca L. Willd. which has anti-inflammatory effect. The dose of 0.192 g/kg BW had anti-inflammatory effect more effective than the other dose 0.772 g/kg BB dan 0.386 g/kg BB. Keywords : anti-inflammatory, dry extract preparation, Leucaena glauca L.
