Abstract
Typhoid fever is caused by Salmonella typhi which is transmitted through food or beverages consumed. Antibiotics are a group of drugs that are often used today to treat typhoid fever. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of use of antibiotic for the treatment of typhoid fever in hospitalized patients, the suitability of the use of antibiotics at a hospital formulary or Standards of Medical Care, knowing there a change in the pattern of antibiotic use typhoid fever in hospital patients in 2013 and 2014 in Pandan Arang Hospital Boyolali. This study was used descriptive method retrospectively. The samples used were all of the data section of the installation antibiotics medical records of hospitalized patients with typhoid fever in Pandan Arang Hospital Boyolali in 2013 and 2014. Based on the results of this study concluded that by 2013 the lowest ceftriaxone and chloramphenicol, but in 2014 is at least ceftriaxone and amoxicillin. Antibiotics are used matches 100% with the formulary and standard compliance of medical services 0% and 100% compliance with the WHO in 2013 and 2014. Antibiotics were included in the DU90% segment in 2013 was ceftriaxone and cefotaxime, whereas in 2014 is ceftriaxone, cefotaxime and ciprofloxacin.
