Abstract

Water is a basic requirement of human life, but clean potable water increasingly hard to find. This study aimed to compare the microbiological testing of water before and after filtration by reverse osmosis in.Balai Alat Mesin dan Pengujian Mutu Hasil Perkebunan Surakarta. The study was conducted using ALT (Total Plate Count ) to determine the number of mesophyll bacteria that grow on media Nutrient Agar (NA) and the method of MPN (Most Probable Number) to calculate the number of coliforms and Escherichia coli in media Lactose Broth and Brilliant Green Lactose Bile Broth. The results of the study with a sample ALT method before filtering, after filtering one and two times that 5,4.101 uk / mL; 2,6.100 x (<3,0.101) uk / mL; and 1.0. 100 x (<3,0.101) uk / mL. Results MPN coliform y samples before filtering, after filtering one and two times at 1.6 MPN/100 mL, 0 MPN/100 mL, 0 MPN / 100 mL. Results Escherichia coli MPN samples before filtering, after filtering one and twice is 0 MPN/100 mL, 0 MPN/100 mL, 0 MPN/100 mL. Samples before filtering ineligible whereas one sample after filtration and after filtration twice to meet the requirements of drinking water on the parameters of microbiological contamination of the Ministry of Health 492 / Menkes / PER / IV / 2010 and SNI-01-3553-2016.
