Abstract

Chronic kidney disease is a condition in which the kidneys are being damaged structural and functional with a value of glomerulus filtration rate (GFR) is under the normal limit for more than 3 months. The decrease of glomerular filtration rate and hepatic triglyceride lipase enzyme activity caused an increase in triglycerides. The purpose of this study is to determine the elevated triglyceride levels in patients with chronic kidney disease in RSU PKU Muhammadiyah Delanggu. The examination of triglyceride levels performed in clinical laboratories of Setia Budi university surakarta against 20 serum samples from patients with chronic kidney disease in RSU PKU Muhammadiyah Delanggu. The examination of triglyceride levels is using GPO-PAP method, monoreagen triglycerides, and triglycerides standards, then triglyceride levels checked with the stardust mc photometer. The results of laboratory examinations on 20 serum samples from patients with chronic kidney disease showed that 60% of the sample had increased triglyceride levels due to decrease in kidney function and the catabolism of triglyceride which resulted in reduced activity of lipoprotein lipase and lipase liver. Whereas 40% of samples did not have increased due to hemodialysis therapy that has been undertaken with a good diet and controlled. Keyword: Chronic kidney disease, triglyceride levels
