Abstract
In Indonesia, the food comes from the sea is very popular by society. Sales of sea product traded in modern and traditional markets, one of them are shrimp and scallop. The shrimp and scallop from sea allowing halophilic bacteria to live because in the sea many occur interactions as Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio parahaemolyticus bacterias. The purpose of this inspection was to identify Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio parahaemolyticus on shrimp and scallop sold in modern and traditional markets. The examination of Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio parahaemolyticus was done on shrimp and scallop which bought from modern and traditional markets in Surakarta. Sample preparation was done by weighing 10 grams and crushed using sterile mortar until smooth and diluted in 90 ml of sterile distilled water. Pipette 1 ml suspension put in 10 ml media of Alkaline Peptone Water (APW), incubated at 37oC for 24 hours. Suspension inoculated by scrath 1 ose in media of Thiosulfate Citrate Bile Sucrose (TCBS) Agar, incubated at 37oC for 24 hours. The positive results obtained Vibrio parahaemolyticus in shrimp of traditional market with there was colony growth with big round green among small green colony on media of TCBS Agar. The examination result that had been done on shrimp and scallop samples sold in modern and traditional markets, Vibrio parahaemolyticus was found only in the shrimp in traditional market but did not found Vibrio cholerae.
