Abstract

One of the health problems in the world is worm infection with the transmission through soil. Intestinal nematodes class of Soil Transmitted Helminthes (STH) is a worm which the one of life cycle in suitable soil to develop into the infective form. Cattle ranchers do activities that may contact with the soil, such as mowing the lawn, cleaning the cattle and cage, and many of those do not use personal protective equipment, such as footwear or boot, glove, etc. This is due to lack of hygiene and sanitation knowledges in the cattle ranchers. Furthermore, based on the above conditions raise the idea to do some research about transmission of intestinal nematodes class of Soil Transmitted Helminthes on cattle ranchers. This study use directly method using dye of eosin2% to identify intestinal nematodes class of Soil Transmitted helminthes. This study use 20 feces samples of cattle ranchers. The test results which condudted on cattle rancher from 20 feces samples were not found eggs of Ascaris lumbricoides. However, from 20 feces samples found one sample was found positive eggs of Trichuris trichiura worm with percentage of 5%, and 1 feces sample was found positive eggs of Hookworm with percentage of 5%.
