Abstract
Microemulsion productis a thermodynamically stable dosage, transparent dispersion of oil and water interface is stabilized by a layer of surfactant molecules and cosurfactant.Bran Oil can be consumed and contains vitamins, antioxidants, and nutrients required by human body. The purpose of this study was to obtain the microemulsion formulation of stable Rice Bran Oil. This study began by perform the optimization of cosurfactant.The result of a clear material chosen as cosurfactant.Then conducted to determine the ratio of the surfactant and cosurfactant and the determination of the amount of oil.Characteristic of Microemulsion produced was evaluated by measuring pH preparation, viscosity,globule size, centrifugation and physicalstability in room temperature for 4 weeks. The results showed that rice bran oil microemulsion formula was stable and transparent obtained from a composition of Rice Bran Oil1%, PEG-7 glyceril cocoat 16.7 %, propylene glycol 8.3 % and aquademineralisata 74 %.Preparation of microemulsionRice Bran Oil showed stable condition of 1 month storage in room temperature 270C.
