Abstract

Hypertension is elevated blood pressure exceeds normal limits, where the normal blood pressure of 110 / 90mgHg. This study aimed to describe and determine the pattern of use of antihypertensive drugs in patients diagnosed with hypertension in the Inpatient Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Hospital Klaten 2015. This research is descriptive non-experimental, by collecting data retrospectively from the medical records of patients with hypertension. Data used include: the identity of the patient, the primary diagnosis, dose and type of drug used. Data analysis included patterns of prescribing antihypertensive drugs namely class and dose of drugs used as well as a general overview of hypertensive patients. The results showed that antihypertensive drugs that are often used include Calcium Channel Blockers, ACE-inhibitors, diuretics and AngiotensiII Receptor Blocker, with the greatest number namely class calcium channel blocker (amlodipine) by 40%. The use of antihypertensive drugs singly widely used Calcium Channel Blocker is 24% and the used of the highest combination is Calcium Channel Blocker + AngiotensinII Receptor Blockers 24.4%. The use of antihypertensive drugs in hypertensive patients were hospitalized in the Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Hospital Klaten 2015 75% are in accordance with the usual dose as stated in the literature JNC 8 and a hospital formulary.
