Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disorder disease metabolisms of carbohydrate, fat, and protein associated with reduced relativelly chronic insulin secretion with characteristic increase in blood glucose levels above normal value. This study was aimed to overview patterns of drug usage in diabetes mellitus type 2 patients at Outpatient Installation of Karanganyar Hospital in 2015. The method used in this research was descriptive non experimental, with collecting data retrospectively from the medical record of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2patients in Karanganyar Hospital in 2015. The type of data obtained from medical records of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 outpatients in 2015 which contains information about the patient name, sex, patient age, drug used, preparation dose used. The study results showed that patterns of drug usage in Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 Patients at Outpatient Installation of Karanganyar Hospital in 2015 was 100% compliance to Hospital Formulary and PERKENI 2006. Class and drug used including class of Sulfonylurea: Glibenclamide, Glimepiride, Gliquidone, class of Biquanid: Metformin, class of Golongan Alfa Glucosida Inhibitor: Acarbose.
