Abstract

Increased use of motor vehicles has generated a lot of air pollution in form of carbon monoxide gas ( co ) very dangerous for health , even impact on the death. This study was aimed to determine the ratio of carboxy hemoglobin level in the blood between outdoor parking men on Slamet Riyadi Road Surakarta with USB students around campus. The research used experimental research. The research was conducted in the hematology laboratory of Setia Budi University Surakarta. The examination of carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) levels was done by using spectrophotometre princple. The data source is non-smoker and smoker outdoor parking men who do not wear a mask while working and USB students around campus. The technique of data analysis was done by using Student's t-test test. Based on the test results obtained by paired t-test show sig 0.000, (p) <0.05. It can be concluded that there is a meaningful difference levels of COHb in the blood between outdoor parking men at Slamet Riyadi road Surakarta with USB students around campus.
