Abstract

Recently, most of diabetes mellitus patient type 2 does not know the important of HbA1c. Knowledge has a major role in health behavior in the community including HbA1c. This study was aimed to determine the relationship of the level knowledge of diabetes patient type 2 with HbA1c test results. This research is a descriptive study with cross sectional approach. The population in this study is diabetes patient type 2 who check their HbA1c at Clinical Pathology Installation of RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta, the number of sample in this study which taken based on rule of thumbs was 30 subjects. The results showed that there is no significant relationship between the levels of knowledge of diabetes patient type 2 with HbA1c test results with p value 0.096 > 0.05.
