East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is an area with a fairly high incidence of malaria, according to the Health Department NTT data 2014 shows Annual Parasite Incidence (API) amounted to 14,86‰. Teunbaun is a village in NTT, which based on data from Puskesmas Baun during the period of the last 3 years have increased the incidence of malaria, i.e. 7,4662‰ in 2012, 9,7993‰ in 2013 and 16,7989‰ in 2014. This phenomenon has a relationship with the less of public knowledge about the incidence of malaria and community participation in this village. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and community participation to incidence of malaria and the percentage incidence of malaria in Teunbaun. This type of research is cross sectional. The population in this study is Teunbaun Village community with a sample of 254 people. The sampling in this study using systematic random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using chi square. The results showed there is a relationship between knowledge and community paticipation with the incidence of malaria, the value of chi square count variable knowledge is X12 count > X12 table i.e. 15,134 > 5,991, with contingency coefficient of 0,237, and the chi-square count value of the variable public participation X22count > X22 table, i.e. 6,583 > 5,991, contingency coefficient value of 0,159. The percentage incidence of malaria in Teunbaun, West Amarasi distric, of Kupang regency, from 254 respondents who tested, positive for malaria is 14 respondents or 5,5% and amounted to negative 240 respondents or 94,5%.
